So here's a little something about myself.
I was born in Delhi, in a quaint pocket of Green Park. Apparently, the day I decided to step into this world, I was told my father was enjoying a quiet game of badminton with his friend and neighbour, a certain Mr. D'Souza.
My father was a Scientist. A B.Sc, M.Sc, B.Tech, M.Tech, Ph.D. He wanted me to follow his footsteps and perhaps become an Engineer or a Nuclear Scientist or something like that. Unfortunately for him, the fruit landed on the other side of the tree.
My mother was a sitar player, a Ph.D in English and a romantic to boot. The fact that she did her thesis on Milton's Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained is testimony to her romanticism. While my father was stationed in the Indian Embassy in Tokyo, she picked up the art of Ikebana as well, while I filled my head with Japanese manga, thanks to their 24 hour cartoon channel and the notion that I was Japanese.
Returning to India seemed like a shock to me, but I never completely recovered.
After doing a 10+2 in Science, I decided to follow my mother's trail and took up Arts in College. After all, Arts was for birds. And I liked to fly. So after college, when I started to scout for a job, I thought copywriting would be good for me. I could write to earn money.
How naive I must have been!
Ever since that day, am seeking an escape. To a place where I can write for my satisfaction and not just to peddle boxes.
And when all the madness gets to me, I write for myself. And fly far, far away.
